The Roundtable
Love in Action Roundtable - Researching and Responding to the Needs in Our Community
Meeting on the second Monday of each month from September through May, The Roundtable brings together people who believe our faith calls us to care for one another and our broader Charlotte community.
Each month offers time for fellowship and an opportunity to learn about the needs of others. This year, we’ll hear from community representatives about needs within our schools, among survivors of sexual abuse, foster families, refugee and immigrant families, our own church community, and more.
Come connect, learn, and discover meaningful ways you are needed and can put your faith into action. Because we need one another.
Schedule

Join us for our October Roundtable as we welcome Crystal Emrick, Executive Director of Brave Step, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals impacted by sexual abuse.
Introduced by Tammie Lesesne, Crystal will share more about Brave Step’s work, the needs of survivors, and how compassionate community support can make a meaningful difference in the journey toward healing.
Come learn more about this important work and how we can better understand and support survivors in our community.
November 9 | Foster Village: Learn how Foster Village and Executive Director Becky Santoro create a community of practical support for foster children and families.
December 14 | Christmas Gathering: Celebrate the season with a special Christmas service project and time of fellowship. You Are Invited

We look forward to seeing you there and joining together in support, understanding, and community impact.
About The Roundtable
The group meets each 2nd Monday of the month, September through May. Each meeting features Outreach Service Organizations in the Charlotte Community. The purpose of The Roundtable is two-fold: Fellowship within our own community and Education to Outreach Possibilities within the broader Charlotte area where we as Christ’s followers might wish to become personally connected. Everyone is welcome!

Sermon Talk Back
Talking back to the preacher?! Please do!
Immediately after the service, we continue our tradition of Sermon Talk Back at Myers Park Baptist. Here’s a quick rundown of what Talk Back is and how you can participate!
What is Sermon Talk Back?Lasting no more than 45 minutes, Talk Back is an opportunity for congregants and guests to respond to the Sunday morning’s proclaimer with questions regarding the sermon, and connections to current topics.
How Long Has Talk Back Been a Tradition?Since the 70s, beginning with the late Senior Minister, Dr. Gene Owens, MPBC has encouraged conversation with the proclaimer. As a congregation that champions “the Free Pulpit we recognize how discussion and conversation can lead to greater understanding and growth.
How can I participate? Easy, just stick around after any Sunday service from June 7 to August 30 to write questions for the proclaimer and join the conversation in Heaton Hall. If you miss a Sunday, you can always watch on YouTube or our website.
Is there something for children?Yes! During Talk Back, elementary children (kindergarten-5th grade) are invited to Sunday School in Room 210, where they can engage in age-appropriate learning and activities.
Preschool childcare is available in the Cornwell Center on the main level.
